Just a little Anything Goes challenge

Hello blogland!  Did you do something fun in July, because it's gone today!  Woosh - another month has flown by this summer :)

When I first started making cards, I never thought I'd like working with digi stamps, but the more I play with them, the more I love them!  Today we kick off a new challenge at Crafting by Designs, and it's always one of our favorites - Anything Goes!  And this week the design team and I used some Rick St. Dennis digi images to make some inspiration projects for you.  Be sure to stop HERE by his store and check out all the fantastic images!

This is Euro Girl Pauline - isn't she adorable?  I decided to do a little paper piecing with her dress and copic colored the rest of the image with some bright, happy, summery colors.  I made this birthday card for a dear friend of mine and after it was completed, I wrote it out, stuffed it in the envelope and was on my way out the door to mail it when I realized I hadn't taken a picture of it to share here today!  But truth be told, I wouldn't have minded coloring her again for another card, she's just too adorable :)

So be sure to hop on over to Crafting by Designs and add your project to our Anything Goes challenge for your chance to win a digi image from Rick St. Dennis!

Scrap Your Vacation

#29
Challenge: Scrap your Vacation
July 23 - 29

Hello blogland!  Summer and vacation season are well under way in New Jersey so what a great time for this week's challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin' -
Scrap your Vacation.  One of my favorite vacations was a few years ago when two of my daughters and I went to Ireland.  We took hundreds of pictures during our time there and it was so much fun looking thru them again when I took out that scrapbook.  I've picked out a two page layout to share with you today to get you inspired.

My layout style is very much like my card making style, clean and simple, because I wanted the pictures to tell the story.  Take a peek:

These pictures were taken at Ballintuber Abbey in County Mayo and was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. After spending some time there,
we had lunch at a small inn across the street and it seemed
that everyone was drawn back to the Abbey before we left.

Ok, your turn, let's see your vacation picture layouts!
Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.

Thanks for playing along we will be announcing the winners on August 2, 2013.

Outside my comfort zone

Hello blogland!  Hot enough for 'ya?  It's almost 90 degrees at 9am so it looks like we're in for another hot day today, which means I'll be staying inside and playing in my craftroom :)

We have another Anything Goes challenge at Crafting by Designs this week and a brand new sponsor you have to check out - Simply B Stamps.  The design team and I got to pick out an image to work with and I went waaaaayyyy outside my comfort zone with my choice, but she was just so stinkin' cute, I couldn't resist her.  Take a look at Zombie Lola:

I've never colored a zombie image before but boy did I have fun doing it - even zombie girls want to look cute, so I made her cute then distressed her and the rest of the card with, whatelse, Distress inks.  And this little Unity stamp sentiment finished up the card quite nicely.

Be sure to stop over and enter your Anything Goes projecct at Crafting by Designs before July 23 for your chance to win a gift certificate to Simply B Stamps!

Ice Cream challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin'

#27
Challenge: Ice Cream
July 9 - 15, 2013

Hello blogland!  If you ask me, any time is ice cream time, and this week at Cuttin' and Stampin' it's our challenge of the week.  Take a peek at my project:

I've been in a red-white-blue mood after just celebrating July 4 and used some paper scraps from Bazzill and my Silhouette to cut my ice cream cone, then a sentiment from Paper Smooches Summer Groves stamp set.  Stickles gave the embossed vanilla ice cream scoop some sparkle and I was done!  You just can't go wrong with vanilla ice cream :)

Come show us your ice cream projects at Cuttin' and Stampin' this week.
Please make sure your creation post has a link back to Cuttin' and Stampin'.

Thanks for playing along we will be announcing the winners on July 19, 2013.
