Hearts and Love

Hi everyone, Doris here and I'm so excited to share a project for this week's challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin'! We may have just started the new year, but Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I'm getting a head
start on my cards.

This challenge is to use hearts or the word "love" in your projects.
I've been playing with some products from a.muse studio and
here's a few cards made with them to give you some inspiration:

This may look complicated but was really easy to do! I used the big heart die to cut the shape in the front of my card base, then added a piece of plain white cardstock underneath; I added a light layer of adhesive then followed the outline of the heart shape and added some bakers cording until the shape was filled in. The sentiment was made by cutting two love die cuts and layering them, and just a little bling to finish it off.

Clean and simple is my go-to style for making most of my cards, and I usually start off by looking thru my scraps drawer. These pieces of cardstock from the a.muse cherry heartbreaker collections were perfect for a CAS card. I cut them each at 1" x 3" and used a square punch to make the banner shape at the end of each piece. A little piece of cherry and white bakers twine and a sentiment from the love me do stamp set and I was done!

Ok, your turn - head over to Cuttin and Stampin Challenges for a complete list of rules and to enter your creation. You can go Here for more

Celebration Blog Hop

Hello blogland and Happy New Year!

Doris here, and welcome to my stop on the CELEBRATE blog hop for Cuttin and Stampin!  You should have come here from Janet's blog at Janet's Creative World, but if you get lost along the way the full line up is at the bottom of this post.

I've been crafting most of my life, and am an admitted paper addict :) My style tends to be more clean and simple, but I love trying new techniques and playing with color too.  I don't like spending a lot of time on a project because I'll keep changing my mind :)

Our theme for this blog hop is Celebrate, and I made a birthday card to add to my stash for the year.

This card was so simple and quick to make, and most of it came out of my scrap pile.  I wanted to make the card a little dimensional, so I used some paper straws as the candles and used some little pop dots to hold them in place.  A little bakers twine and some bling - all done! All supplies used to make this card came from a.muse studio and you can find them HERE.

And what's a celebration without something sweet?  I made these little banners using the same straws, stamps and paper from a.muse studio and stuck them into some chocolate dipped marshmallows; easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to stop at all 11 new Design Team members and leave a comment at each, then at the final stop is where you can enter to WIN blog candy. There are (2) $25.00 gift certificates to A Muse Studio up for grabs.  Your next stop from here is over to Sherri's flip-floppin blog.

In case you get distracted along the way, here is a complete line up:
