Friends/Friendship makes the world go 'round

Hello blogland, Doris here with a brand new challenge from
Crafting by Designs.
Our theme this week is Friends and Friendship.
How many times do you send a card to a Friend, for
no reason at all?  A few lines from a friend can
just make someone's day :)

Here are the two projects I made
for this challenge:

This first card is made using a Bugaboo image - Springtime Friends
and a Unity Stamp sentiment.  Simple and to the point, don't you think?

This second card was made using two digi stamps:
Wishing well with birdie and Friend Gives

Hop on over to Crafting by Designs HERE and enter your
Friends/Friendship projects by May 27 for your chance to
win some crafty goodness from one of these two
great sponsors!

Memorial Day challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin'

Weekly Challenge
Orange Team 14-20
Memorial Day

This week the Cuttin and Stampin Design Team used the
Paper Smooches Circle of Honor stamp set and
Doodlebug Patriotic Parade papers in their projects. These
are both available in the Cuttin and Stampin Scrappy Supply Store.

Our new challenge is to make a project
celebrating Memorial Day. There are so many
groups that collect cards for our soldiers and veterans, please
consider making a card for a hero to thank them for their service.
This card will be going in my next box of cards to Operation Write Home.

http://operationwritehome.org

The papers in the Doodlebug Patriotic Parade line are great!
I used an embossing folder on the middle layer and some
red, white, blue washi tape on top of that.
For the poppies, I used two pieces of round red velumn
and just folded it to give it dimension.  One piece is topped with
a clear button and red, white, blue bakers twine and the
other with a small red brad so even though it gives
some dimension on the card, it's still flat enough
for the Operation Write Home box :)

Be sure to head over to
Cuttin' and Stampin' and show us your projects
for Memorial Day before
May 26.  Go HERE to enter your project.

Because you can never have enough Thank You Cards!

Hi everyone, Doris here with a brand
new challenge starting today at
Crafting by Designs!
You can just never have enough birthday or thank you
cards, and our challenge this week is Thank You.

This week my project has no digital stamp image -
instead I dug into my scraps drawer and used
a Stampin' Up sentiment for this little card.

I wish I know how I made that cute bow because I
couldn't duplicate it a second time!

It's Mother's Day!

Hi everyone, Doris here with this week's
new challenge at Crafting by Designs.

This week our challenge is Mother's Day,
and our sponsor is one of my favorites -  Delicious Doodle

I chose to work with the Fuchsia & Hummingbird image
because we've been having so many hummingbirds
visit the backyard lately - they are so fascinating to watch and so QUICK!

I colored the hummingbird image and part of one of the
flowers twice so I could layer it for some dimension, and a swipe of
some Wink of Stella on the bird gave it some lovely shimmer.
Be sure to enter your Mother's Day project HERE by May 13
for your chance to win the digi images from Delicious Doodles!

And most of all, a special thanks to all of our Mom's out there.
We wouldn't be here without you!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Traditional Mother's Day Challenge at Cuttin' and Stampin'

Orange Team 14-18
Traditional Mother's Day
This week our challenge is to make
traditional Mother's Day projects, and that includes flowers!
The design team used the Paper Smooches Pretty Momma
stamp set and items from the Bazzill Vintage Marketplace
and Vintage Lace collection, and all these items

Ah, Mother's Day....what would we do without our Mother's?
I made this fun little card for my Mother, I hope she likes it.

This Paper Smooches stamp set was so much fun
to play with -  here's my finished project:

My Mom loves cameos and I was so excited when I saw a cameo
in this set, but what got me really giggling was this paper pattern - Mom
has a tablecloth that looks just like this, it's one of her favorites,
so how could I resist?

I made this card a little dimensional by popping up the cameo image and paper
piecing two of the little butterflies, added some wide pink ribbon, and I was done.  After I took this picture I did go back and add some clear Wink of Stella onto both butterflies so now they've got a nice little shimmer on them.

Please head over to Cuttin and Stampin and enter your
Mother's Day projects HERE.

Happy Mother's Day!
